The Turks Head Two Strand Herringbone Weave Candle Holder

Friends of mine had invited me to spend the day with them and have lunch, at the time I didn't have any spare cash to be able to afford a bunch of flowers or a box of chocolates. Recently I had been experimenting with the Turks Head herringbone weave knots. So I set about another experiment by combining two strands to form a herringbone pattern. The finished knot I placed around a candle holder and drew the knot tight so that it would remain in place. You can see the final result in the picture below.

To make an identical or similar knot, choose two contrasting or complimentary coloured 4mm strands and follow the instructions for two under two over herring bone weave. Weave your first strand up to the required number of complete knots divided by two. So if you want four knots in total linked together weave two. You then place your second strand at your starting point and follow exactly the same route around the knot until you arrive back at your starting point. Be careful to ensure that you keep your second strand on the same side of your original strand at all times without crossing over to the opposite side.
