Salmon Fishing Autumn Special

Come and fish the River Camel during October and November. Indulge yourself with your favorite pastime and enjoy the quite waters surrounded by beautiful autumnal beech woods. Ahh peaceful bliss. Who knows, you may even see otters and kingfishers going about their daily business. After your days fishing relax in front of the fire and exchange your fishing tales with our other guest's.

What you will need and restrictions

If you don't have one already, you will need an Environment Agency Rod License if you are over 12 years of age (a license can be arranged before you arrive upon request).
Children under the age of 12 must be accompanied by an adult with a Camel River rod license to fish these waters.
One rod maximum per person.
Four salmon per week maximum.

We are located in the heart of Cornwall near Bodmin Moor close to the river Camel and Camel Trail with rural landscapes all around. Locally you will be able to walk, swim, cycle or just relax in our beautiful mature garden immaculately maintained.
The farmhouse was originally a hunting lodge built in the 14th Centaury, forming part of the Pencarrow Estate.

We have a selection of rooms available. Single, twin, double and family starting from £18.00 per night per person.

Facilities provided

Enjoy relaxing in our comfortable lounge and watch television or if you prefer play some games on the play station.
We provide off road parking for guest’s vehicles and we are able to securely store our guest's high value items if required.
Hot and cold running water with fresh towels soap and shower gels are provided with a choice of either a bath or shower.
Breakfast starts from 7.30 am. So if you have had a late night, don't worry you will still be able to come down for breakfast up until 10 am.

Local concessions provided

  • Fly Fishing six months of the year - Sea trout restricted to the months of May, June and July. Salmon restricted to September, October and November. You will also need an environment agency rod license.

How to find us:

  • Traveling from the West
  • On the A30 travel past the first Bodmin junction to the roundabout. Take the turning onto the A389 until you reach Bodmin hospital and turn left. When you reach the end of the road turn left again and travel along the A389 approximately three miles and turn left towards St Mabyn.
  • From the A39 continue on towards Wadebridge. When you reach the roundabout before Wadebridge turn left towards Bodmin. Travel along the A389 for approximately 3 miles and turn left towards St Mabyn.
  • Traveling from the East
  • On the A30 come to the first Bodmin turn off just before the dual carriage-way begins and take the A389. Travel through Lanivet until you reach Bodmin Hospital. Turn left and follow the road to the end and turn left again towards Wadebridge. Follow the A389 for approximately 3 miles and take the right turning for St Mabyn..
  • From the A39 go through Wadebridge and take the turn for Bodmin. Follow the A389 for approximately 4 miles and take the left turn for St Mabyn.
  • You will find us about 100 yards up the lane on your right just on the bend.
