A natural fibre rope that offers excellent resistance to all weather conditions, making it great for use outdoors. Often used in gardens for borders or decking, in children's play areas and in marine environments, the rope has a rough feel that provides superb grip. Sisal is also hugely popular with cats, (often used as cat scratches) as the fibres are short and scratchy, providing a lot of friction.
The natural rope is made from the yarns of the Agave Sisalana plant (native to Mexico and Central America), hence the name, Sisal.
We've written up a few frequently asked questions that are asked in store for a little extra guidance.
Yes - as with all natural ropes, sisal rope will shrink when wet, then lengthen when it dries. This must be taken into account when covering exact distances.
Natural ropes typically shrink by around 10% when wet - when they're dry, they will return to their original length.
Sisal rope is 100% biodegradable, highly durable and has excellent resistance to salt water and all weather conditions, making it an ideal marine rope, and also for general outdoor use.
